8. Itinerary

The Tour from Ben Gurion Airport start to finish
Based on the official tour brochure (subject to change for the best interest of the group):
Day 1: Departure
Embark on the journey to the Holy Land. Get rest on the flight.
Day 2: Arrive Israel
Arrive in Israel and travel northward to the hotel for one night in the coastal area near Tel Aviv. Meet the Israeli guide, enjoy the included dinner, and retire to the room in preparation for an early departure.
Day 3: Caesarea, Megiddo & Nazareth
Travel by private motor coach along the Mediterranean Sea coast to Caesarea (Roman Amphitheatre, hippodrome, remains of the port city, aqueduct). Journey through Mt. Carmel (Elijah's challenge to King Ahab and prophets of Baal). Travel through Jezreel Valley to Megiddo (Armageddon Battlefield, twenty levels of civilization). Drive through Cana and Nazareth (boyhood home of Jesus, visit Nazareth Village recreation with costumed guides). Dinner and overnight lodging for two nights in the Tiberias area on the Sea of Galilee.
Day 4: Dan, Caesarea Philippi, Capernaum, Magdala, Sea of Galilee Boat Ride
Travel to Dan (site of alternative sacrifice) and Caesarea Philippi (Peter’s Confession, pagan worship). Pass possible site of multiplication of loaves and fishes in Bethsaida and Mount of the Beatitudes. Return to Tiberias for St. Peter’s Fish lunch (other selections available; this special lunch is not included in the tour price – expect to pay around $20-25 USD per person on site). Visit ancient Galilee Boat, then relaxing cruise on the Sea of Galilee. Visit excavations in Capernaum (seaside village, Peter’s home) and Magdala (hometown of Mary Magdalene, First Century Synagogue, village).
Day 5: Jordan River Baptism Site, Beth Shean, Ein Gedi & Dead Sea
Opportunity for baptism at the Jordan River Baptismal Site (this is an optional activity; site entry is free, but if you choose to be baptized and need a white robe/towel, rental costs a small fee – typically $10-15 USD for robe rental). Travel southward to Beit-Shean/Scythopolis (archaeological site, Philistine hanging of Saul’s body, Decapolis city). Follow Jordan Valley (agricultural restoration, irrigation, ancient Jericho viewed from distance, Bethany Beyond the Jordan). Proceed to Ein Gedi (oasis, Spring of the Goat, hiding place for David, site of worship victory). Lodging at Dead Sea (lowest place on earth); enjoy spa and float in the Dead Sea before dinner.
Day 6: Masada, Dead Sea Scrolls, Abraham's Tent
Cable car ride to Masada (fortress, zealot history). Visit Qumran Caves (Dead Sea Scrolls discovery). Genesis Land Dinner in Abraham's Tent (Patriarchs theme, costume, dramatic presentation, camel ride, authentic food). Lodging for next four nights in Jerusalem.
Day 7: Around Jerusalem, Bible Times, Bethlehem
Visit Wailing Wall and Rabbinical Tunnels (Second Temple era, Temple Mount construction, water supply, Roman street, cornerstone rejected by builders). Visit Judgment Hall of Pilate (conspiracy, beating, humiliation), Pool of Bethesda, Stephen's Gate, St. Ann’s Church. Visit Southern Wall excavations (Temple entrance, purification pools, site of Jesus' Temple entry). Optional visit to Bethlehem or free time in the Old City to shop.
Day 8: Jesus' Steps, Last Days, Way of Suffering, Garden Tomb
Panoramic view from Mount of Olives (city, Mount Moriah, Dome of the Rock). Walk through Garden of Gethsemane (ancient olive trees, Jesus' prayer, reflection). Visit Protestant Cemetery, Upper Room (outside Zion Gate, disciple reference). Walk Via Dolorosa, visit Church of the Holy Sepulcher (crucifixion and burial opinions). Visit Golgotha and Garden Tomb (resurrection celebration with communion and praise).
Day 9: Israel Museum, House of Caiaphas, Temple Mount, City of David
Visit Israel Museum (artifacts, Dead Sea Scrolls, model of Biblical Jerusalem). Visit House of Caiaphas (beating, pit, hillside steps). Conditions permitting, visit Temple Mount). Visit City of David (Gihon Springs, excavations, Israelite house, lower city wall, Pool of Siloam (Jesus' miracle in John 9).
Day 10: Homeward
Transfer to Tel Aviv airport for flight home.
