Ezekiel Pt 4 - the Glory Departs

Let’s remember the context of what’s happening in this major prophetic book. God calls Ezekiel as a prophet to the exiled Jews who were living in the Southern Kingdom - which was Judah. They were taken captive and deported to Babylon. For 22 years, he became a street preacher, announcing God’s judgment and salvation to Israel.

God told him to illustrate His message using dramatic object lessons. Ezekiel obeyed and faithfully proclaimed God’s message. He was a visual prophet. Lying on one side for months. Hiding in a cave. Not grieving his wife’s death.

God would use these visual illustrations to grab there attention.
