Father's Day
King David’s farewell address to Solomon in 1 Chronicles 28 outlines four vital principles for being a godly dad.
First, fathers must teach a personal faith. Because a dad’s active spiritual involvement drastically increases the likelihood of his children maintaining their faith into adulthood, men must authentically model a life of worship and prayer.
Second, fathers must teach their children to serve the Lord with wholehearted devotion and a willing mind, by living out everyday examples of love in action.
Third, dads must teach accountability, actively instilling moral standards and clear boundaries to protect their children from the painful, long-term consequences of sin.
Finally, fathers must assist with their children's callings by cultivating their unique gifts and supporting their dreams. Ultimately, being a godly dad requires intentionality, personal sacrifice, and leading by example so the next generation can confidently walk with God.
