Truths For Thanking God
Psalm 100 teaches that genuine thanksgiving flows from knowing who God is and responding to Him with joyful worship, glad service, and heartfelt praise. Our culture is marked by ingratitude which is reflected in the worlds spiritual decline. As believers we are commanded to cultivate thankful hearts in all circumstances. Psalm 100 provides five truths about how and why we give thanks: we shout for joy, serve the Lord with gladness, come into His presence with singing, know that He alone is God, our Creator and Redeemer, and we can thank Him because He is always good, loving, and faithful through all generations. Gratitude is both a supernatural act and the defining posture of God’s people that guards our hearts from discouragement and fills our lives with God’s presence.
